Letters to the editor are one of my favourite parts of a newspaper. I clip them out and save them to my collection in my journal.

Headlines and first paragraphs of things I'm interested in are collected too.

Political cartoons.

Interesting photos.

I collect all these things (from newspapers lately, when I get them) to chronicle the times.

Yes, it's a bit weird, but I have a long-term project to make an index for my old journal books.

I recently completed the year 1999 (thru journal book volume 44). I still have a long, long way to go as my current journal is at volume 145.

So, an index will make things easier to find, obviously, if I ever go back and write my autobiography or ( Read more... )

I stopped my subscription to my "The Week" news magazine recently. My little hobby is to cut out and save the news articles that interest me... but sometimes it seems like a bit of a chore... so this respite will give me a little breather ( Read more... )

I've been on livejournal since 2005... 16 years. And I've been keeping a paper journal since 1986... 35 years. What's it all for?

Well, I use my journals a bit as a place to store things... sort of a scrap book as well as a journal. I even have an index, which is a work in progress.
